I'm Daniel. I'm based in Los Angeles, originally from the UK and back from time to time.

I started writing software when I was 12, building cheats for the browser games my friends and I were playing at the time. School computing didn't keep up, so I left at 16 and got a job writing C# for a small UK travel-software company instead.

The first real chunk of my career was in London finance, building low-latency foreign-exchange trading platforms before leading engineering teams on investment-banking and ad-tech projects. From there I founded Ring Leader Solutions, a small consulting firm, and grew the engineering team from zero to ten while delivering systems for investment banks and a renewable-energy broker.

In 2019 I moved to the US and joined Whole Foods Market in Austin, leading the platform program that replaced the in-store mobile fleet across more than twenty thousand devices. I stayed on as an SDM at Amazon after the acquisition, then went west to Riot Games and spent three and a half years leading the VALORANT Build Platforms team, building developer infrastructure for more than five hundred developers behind a game with tens of millions of players.

These days my focus is Likewise.
